I learned how easy it is to put things first before God. Even things that came from God can become an idol. For instance, I heard of some brothers in the church who were graciously gifted in music for praise in worship. In a matter of time through pride and ego, the musical talents that God gave them went to their heads and it got to the point where it was all about "them" and all about "music" and not even about God. Sad to say that those brothers are no longer in the ministry and we have seen the destruction that behavior will lead to. The story of Solomon is a great example of what will happen when you shift your love towards God to something else, (1 Kings, chapter 11).
God has been dealing with me about not putting video production first. Even if the videos are about God and the ministry, it can be easy for me to get caught up in the enjoyment of making videos to where that can become my idol. I must submit these things to God and let him lead me. I need to let God increase and let me decrease because it's not about me, it is about God. I don't want to go to hell for getting so caught up in what I think is a good thing. I need to be about my Father's business and not my own thing.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Dear Lord, help me to put you 1st and show me what to put 2nd and 3rd and so forth, in Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
